What is Cryptocurrency?
Cryptocurrency is a decentralized 'digital or virtual' currency designed to work as a peer-to-peer medium of exchange. These secure transactions take place on massive public ledger called the blockchain, which is the most innovative breakthrough in cryptograph security currently available.... And in English; Cryptocurrency is extremely secure 'digital cash'.
Why do I care?
The adoption of cryptocurrency is rapidly growing around the world as more individuals recognize the benefits that this form of value transfer has over traditional fiat currency.
So.... what exactly IS it?
There are many cryptocurrencies available to the public, the most popular include BitCoin, Ethereum and Litecoin. However, the markets are not limited to these 3. There are 100s of cryptocurrencies and more are being released everyday.
What can I do with it?
Essentially everything you can do with fiat currency or 'regular money'. Many companies and merchants are accepting crypto as a valid form of payment for their goods and services. These transactions are as simple as sending an email. With the click of a button you simply transfer the funds from your digital wallet to their digital wallet. There are no banks, no credit cards, no middle man or third parties that could interfere with with the exchange. No one will place a hold the transaction or cancel it.
